Courtesy Call on the Mantse Ankrah Royal Family

On Thursday, January 23, 2025, the team paid a courtesy visit to the Mantse Ankrah Royal Family to introduce Beyond Burns International and its initiatives to the Head of Family and Elders of the Mantse Ankrah Royal Family. The meeting aimed to establish a potential collaboration between Beyond Burns International and Mantse Ankrah Royal Family while offering insights into the organization’s work.

The family welcomed the team with warmth and gratitude, acknowledging the vital role of chieftaincy in community development. They highlighted the ongoing stigma faced by burns survivors and emphasized the need for increased awareness and societal inclusion.

Speaking to the media, Executive Director, Judith Cato Addison addressed the challenges faced by burns survivors, including financial hardships, physical scars, and societal rejection. She explained that Beyond Burns International is working to bridge these gaps through educational outreach and rehabilitation programs. Madam Addison also expressed her hopes for a future where burns prevention is a priority and everyone, regardless of socio-economic status, has access to quality burn care. She called on corporate organizations to support these efforts through funding, partnerships, and corporate social responsibility initiatives. In a remarkable show of support, the family pledged GHC 20,000 to assist with the organization’s activities. The pledge was made by Nii Niikoi Ashaley, Chief of Keneshie, on behalf of the elders of the Mantse Ankrah Royal Family.
