Cash Support for Veteran Actor Mawuli Semevo

On February 10th, 2025, Beyond Burns International made a generous cash donation of GHC 20,000 to the family of veteran actor Mawuli Semevo, who suffered severe burns covering 44% of his body in a tragic incident at his SSNIT flat apartment in Adenta.

According to his brother, Philip Okyere, the actor was asleep when Philip woke up to check on the hall and was shocked to find it engulfed in flames. He immediately called the Ghana National Fire Service, who responded quickly. Philip was stunned to learn that Mawuli had attempted to escape the fire by going through the flames before the fire service arrived.

The actor was admitted to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital on Friday, February 7th, 2025. On Saturday, February 8th, Beyond Burns International publicly announced the incident and launched a fundraising appeal for his medical treatment. The organization successfully raised a support amount, which was presented to the family. Veteran actress Edinam Atatsi received the donation on their behalf.
